Good blues are scattered out from Clarksville all the way up both the Staunton and Dan rivers. Fish can be caught on live shad and bream, and also on cut shad and crappie. The bigger flatheads are still mostly in the rivers but should be beginning to work back towards the lake. Live bream is still the bait of choice but you can also use stink bait, chicken livers, nightcrawlers etc.
